E-Learning Media Centre inaugurated at HMV

The e-Learning Media Centre was inaugurated by Department of Multimedia at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar on 20.12.2018. It was inaugurated by Chairman Local Committee (Retd.) Justice Sh. N.K. Sud, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar IAS Diparv Lakra and joint Commissioner Ashika Jain.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed them with planters and said that this e-Learning Media Centre will be helpful in video recording of lectures of teachers. These lectures will on HMV e-Learning web portal.

The motive of this media centre is to develop e-Content because e-Content development is necessary for advancement in education. It is a supplement for traditional teaching-learning method. Dr. Sareen said that learning process is going to be more interesting coordinator e-Content development.  Mr. Jagjit Bhatia said that e-Learning Media Centre of HMV will be producing good quality video contents with multimedia support. We have hi-tech equipments like digital white board, visualiser, hi-tech cameras, teleprompter, sound studio etc. The concepts of teachers will be clarify in a better way. It will be of great help for the students and their taste towards their subjects will be developed. Principal & Guests appreciated the efforts of the department.

Workshop on Web Technologies, SEO and Software testing by Ansh Infotech, Ludhiana

A workshop on “Web Technologies, Search engine optimization and software testing” was organized by Multimedia Department of Hans Raj Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. The workshop was conducted by resource person from Ansh Infotech Technology, Ludhiana. Principal Prof. Dr (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Mr. Jagjit Bhatia, HOD of Multimedia Department Welcomed Mr. Anshu Aneja, Mr. Naveen and Mr. Gaurav from Ansh Infotech.

The workshop was conducted for students to learn required skills and latest techniques for Software Testing, SEO techniques and Digital Marketing. Students were encouraged to develop their own website using tags, links and SEO techniques.

Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen encouraged the participants to utilize the opportunity to fullest and congratulated the Multimedia Department on their initiative to organize this workshop. Mr. Jagjit Bhatia, HOD Multimedia dept. and IT explained the importance of learning different technologies, Mr. Ashish, Mr. Money, Mr. Rahil, Mr. Rishabh, Ms. Supreeti and other faculty members of Multimedia Department were also present.

HMV GIRLS BAGGED TOP POSITIONS IN UNIVERSITY

The students of Hans Raj Mahila Maya Vidyalaya once again proved their mettle by securing top 3 positions in the B.Voc (Web Tech & Multimedia Semester-VI) examination conducted by GNDU. Radhika secured 2024 marks out of 2400 & topped the university. Taniya stood 2nd with 1998 marks &Harpinder got 1953 marks & stood 3rd in the university. Principal Prof. Dr.(Mrs) Ajay Sareen congratulated the students & wished them luck for future. On this occasion Head of the Department (Multimedia) Mr. Jagjit Bhatia, Mr. Ashish & Mr. Mani were also present.

Seminar on ‘E-resources and its Dissemination’ by Dr. Gurvinder Singh, Dean, Faculty of Engg. & Technology, GNDU Amritsar

An informative and captivating seminar on ‘E-resources and its Dissemination’ was delivered by Dr. Gurvinder Singh, Dean, Faculty of Engg. & Technology, GNDU Amritsar at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized by Department of Multimedia under the motivation of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  Principal Dr. Sareen welcomed the guest by presenting a planter.

            Dr. Anjana Bhatia introduced Dr. Gurvinder as an eminent educationist who has achieved laurels in the field of teaching and learning.  Dr. Gurvinder emphasized on the use of innovative methods with special focus on MOOCs.  He apprised that it will be compulsory for every student to take up atleast one course under MOOCs, an initiative of MHRD and SWAYAM.  For promoting it, the government is providing the courses free of charge and has also allocated marks for it in API score and NAAC accreditation.  MOOCs are being used worldwide to benefit the students and it will replace the obsolete methods of pedagogy.  It is the need of the hour and the institutions will soon adopt it completely.

            The seminar was attended by all the faculty members of the college.  Mr. Jagjit Bhatia was the coordinator of the seminar.

BMM STUDENTS OF HMV GOT UNIVERSITY POSITIONS

The students of Bachelor of Multimedia (BMM) of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya got university positions. Km. Diksha of BMM 7th semester got 3rd position in university with 558 marks. Km. Swati Sharma of BMM 5th semester got 4th position in university with 532 marks. Principal Prof. Dr(Mrs) Ajay Sareen congratulated the student, deptt. incharge Mr. Jagjit Bhatia & Asstt. The students of B.Voc (Web Technology & Multimedia) Semester-I of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya bagged top three positions. Km.  Anjali got 1st position with 304 marks, Km. The students of B.Design (Multimedia) Semester-III of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalay bagged university positions. Km. GurveenKaur got 2nd position with 477 marks out of 500. Workshop on 3ds Max in collaboration with Entritt Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Workshop on 3D Graphics was organized by Department of Multimedia in collaboration with Entritt Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Chd. In which the students got the knowledge about 3d graphics and animation. Students took part with enthusiasm and gained knowledge. Principal appreciated the efforts & motivated the students to think to think productively.

B.DESIGN (MULTIMEDIA) STUDENT OF HMV WON 1ST POSITION IN UNIVERSITY

Km. HarpreetKaur of B.Design (Multimedia) Semester-I of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya won 1st position in Guru Nanak Dev University by securing 344 marks. Km. Industrial visit: to Uttam Hindu News Paper

An industrial visit was organized to daily Uttam Hindu Newspaper printing press on 28th march, 2018 by the Multimedia department. Sh. Irwin Khanna, the chief editor of Uttam Hindu addressed the students of B.voc (Web tech & Multimedia) & B. Design (Multimedia) giving profound knowledge about E-paper & printing procedure. The students had an opportunity to experience the step by step process of E-News Portal and offset printing technique from film paper formation to the final printing process. Principal appreciated the efforts & motivated the students to think productively. Coordinator Mr. Jagjit Bhatia had convened the visit with other faculty members.

Seminar on Big Data Analytics by By Dr. Parteek Bhatia from Thapar University

The Department of Multimedia of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a seminar on Big Data Analytics under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen on 24.3.2018.  The resource person was Dr. Parteek Bhatia from Deptt. of Computer Science and Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala. Dr. Parteek Bhatia told the students about the great need of expertise to handle unstructured data.  He further explained the scope of NOSQL and Future of NOSQL. He also imparted theoretical and practical knowledge to the students about Big Data.

Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen motivated the students to learn about the new technologies and congratulated the faculty members for such initiatives.  Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Jagjit Bhatia and he said that the purpose of conducting the seminar was to sensitize the students about new technologies required by the industry in future.  All the faculty members of Multimedia Department were also present.

A poetical Recitation & Digital Poster Making Competition on S. Bhagat Singh to pay homage

The Multimedia Club in collaboration with Student Council organized a Poetical Recitation and Digital Poster Making competition to pay homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed Sh. Arvind Ghai, Secretary, DAVCMC and presented mug painted with the image of the great martyr.  Separtment organized a poetical recitation contest.  The judges of the event were Mrs. Kuljit Kaur Athwal, Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda and Dr. Nidhi Bal.  Mr. Ashish Chadha, Incharge Multimedia Club organized Digital Poster Making competition and the judges were Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Ms. Shama Sharma and Mr. Jagjit Bhatia.  The judges were honoured by the Club.  The students of Department distributed badges of Bhagat Singh to the teachers and students.  Mrs. Navroop Kaur, Dean Youth Welfare played a recorded message of Mr. Gurbhajan Gill, a famous Punjabi Poet to the students.  Sh. Arvind Ghai and Dr. Ajay Sareen lighted candles in the memory of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and enjoyed the song ‘Mera Rang De Basanti Chola’ recited by the students of Music Department.  The winners of poetical symposium were Gurpal Kaur, Jiwanjot Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur.  In e-poster making Swati Sharma stood first, Jyoti got second prize, Neha came third and Mansi won a consolation prize.  The winners were given prizes and their efforts were appreciated.
