Seminar on Innovation Development on 9th November 2021.
PG Department of Multimedia organized an online
session on Innovation Development on 9th
November 2021. The
session started with the blessings of the Almighty by recitation
of Gayatri Mantra. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen conveyed her
best wishes and congratulated the Department for its incessant
efforts. Ms. Leena Chhabra a young entrepreneur, Director Clients Code
Working actively as WICCI -State President Punjab Digital Media Council started
the session by explaining the basic concept of Innovation Development focusing
on recent developments and new approached for innovation and research and also
their impoartance in businesses at individual level and its national level. The
lecture also fulfilled the objective of nurturing leadership potential of
student innovators. She also prepared an animated video for students to
understand the concept with the help of Multimedia and compared the working and
management of a business on the basis of how they reach their customers, how
they maintained relationship with them and also how new and new offers are
being introduced not effecting the financial condition of the system. Dr.
Anjana Bhatia, Incharge, IIC welcomed the resource person and Mr. Ashish
Chadha, Head, PG Deptt. of Multimedia moderated this session. Mr. Rishabh Dhir,
from Multimedia Department gave the formal vote of thanks. 86 students along
with other faculty members attended this session.

Diwali Exhibition on 30th October, 2021
Exhibition was organized by PG Department of Multimedia of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar on the occasion of Diwali Utsav which was inaugurated by Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Students of Multimedia exhibited artistic and designer products. Department of Multimedia displayed and sold greetings, graphic artitifacts, posters, stickers, flyer and happy Diwali Greeting Cards. Students and faculty members enjoyed this exhibition. Skills and hardwork of the students and guidance of faculty members are beautiful rendered and was appreciated by one and all. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen congratulated and appreciated the efforts and creativity of the students and guidance of the faculty members. Principal also encouraged students to conduct more exhibitions like this in the coming future.

HMV students got top positions in B.Voc (Web Technology and Multimedia) Sem – II (2020-21)
B.voc (Web Technology and Multimedia) Sem-II students of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar got 2nd, 3rd and 9th positions in Guru Nanak Dev University. Km. Randeep stood 2nd in university with 371 marks, Km. Samya Sodhi stood 3rd with 368 marks and Km. Srishti stood 9th with 353 marks out of 400. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the students. On this occasion, Mr. Ashish Chadha and Mr. Rishabh Dhir were also present.

World Photography Day celebrated at HMV
PG Department of Mass Communication and Video Production and PG
Department of Multimedia jointly celebrated World Photography Day by organizing
Photography Competition “Show us Your Best Shot”. The participants were given
the freedom to click photographs on any topic/subject and submit them till 5.00
p.m. The coordinators of the event were Mrs. Rama Sharma, Head of Mass Communication & Video
Production Department and Mr. Ashish Chadha, Head of Multimedia Department. The
entries were received from teachers of HMV, students of HMV, DAV College,
Cambridge International Co-ed School,
Apeejay School, Free Lance entries from Kashmir and Army Public School
Beas. The judge of the competition was Mrs. Mamta, Head of English Department.
First Prize was given to Harmandeep Kaur of HMV. Second Prize was won by Pranav
from Apeejay School, Third prize was won by Khushi from HMV. Appreciation
certificate was given to Mr. Mudasir Fayej from Kashmir, Mr. Sushil Kumar from
HMV, Priya Gill from HMV and Niraj from Army Public School Beas, Amritsar. All
the participants were given e-certificates. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen congratulated the winners and
said that Photography is an art and I am glad to know that this art is
appreciated by many people. She told that the college received 150 entries for
the competition. She appreciated the efforts of MCVP Department and Multimedia
Department.

Mahila Maha Vidyalaya got 1st and 2nd positions in Guru Nanak Dev
University. Km. Zenia Arora stood 1st in university with 484 marks and Km.
Gurveen Kaur stood 2nd with 479 marks out of 500. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen congratulated the students and encouraged them to reach greater
heights. On this occasion, Mr. Ashish Chadha and Mr. Rishabh

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya students got First, Second and Third positions in Guru Nanak Dev University in B.Voc (Web Technology and Mutimedia) Sem III. Km. Smile stood 1st in university with 360 marks out of 400, Km. Riya Sethi stood 2nd with 355 marks and Km. Pooja and Km. Priyanka stood 3rd with 354 marks. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the students and encourages them to continue their success in the examinations. Online session on “Business Model Canvas”
PG Department of Multimedia organized an online session on Business Model Canvas under the aegis of MHRD to acquaint the students towards Entrepreneurship. The session was organized with the favourable support of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The session started with the blessings of the Almighty by recitation of Gayatri Mantra. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen conveyed her best wishes and congratulated the Innovation Cell for its incessant efforts. She also applauded the Innovation Ambassadors for successfully organising the Sessions. Dr. Anjana Bhatia introduced the concept of the session and briefed about the MHRD’s motive of Innovation Council which is prompted towards training the youth of the country and gave a formal welcome to the Resource Person Ms. Leena Chhabra. Ms. Leena Chhabra a young entrepreneur, Director Clients Code Working actively as WICCI -State President Punjab Digital Media Council started the session by explaining the basic concept of Business Model Canvas in a very simple way. She emphasised that the concept of entrepreneurship. Right from the basic level of Entrepreneurship to all the 9 blocks of Business Model Canvas. She explained all the nine blocks step by step along with a real life example which helped the students to link the virtual concept with the real world. Every Block of Model Canvas highlighted one phase of startup of business and its various aspects. She also prepared an animated video for students to understand the concept with the help of Multimedia and compared the working and management of a small scale Flight business on the basis of how they reach their customers, how they maintained relationship with them and also how new and new offers are being introduced not effecting the financial condition of the system. In the end, she highlighted the concepts of entrepreneurship of very small scale business as well. Mr. Ashish Chadha, Head, PG Deptt. of Multimedia moderated this session. Mr. Rishabh Dhir, from Multimedia Department gave the formal vote of thanks and the webinar came to an end with a positive message that Entrepreneurship will play an effective role during COVID times as it will help small ideas to become a big one with the help of online platforms. Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Head, B.Design Department, Mrs. Navneeta, from Fashion Technology Department and other faculty members along with 80 students attended this session.

lecture on Multimedia Tools and Tricks
Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is organising a Ten Day Induction Programme. On the Sixth Day of this Programme, Mr. Ashish Chadha from Post Graduate Department of Multimedia was the Resource Person who delivered a lecture on Multimedia Tools and Tricks. Mr. Ashish Chadha shared his knowledge about various tools used in Multimedia which act as the back bone of any Digital Media Production. He made the students aware about the various free online services which can be used along with their emails. He also gave a Practical Session on how to use these free tools/websites to get their work done in day to day life and making it very easy and less time consuming. He made them aware about use of G-Drive, Docs, JamBoard, Slides, Form, Keep, Mind master, Canva and other various online apps and websites available free on the internet. Other recording tools like OBS Studio and Open Shot were also explained. It was really an interesting and interactive session in which students participated with full of gusto. Students felt this session quite helpful as at the end there was one to one query session. They also provided their valuable feedback. Incharges of this induction programme, Mrs. Meenu Kohli, Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Management and Ms. Shallu Batra, Post Graduate Department of Economics delivered a vote of thanks at the end of the session.

HMV PG Department of Multimedia organized a visit to Machinex – 2021
The Multimedia Club of PG Department of Multimedia organized a visit to
Machinex – 2021 for the students of B. Vocational & M. Vocational (Web
Tech. & Multimedia). The students had an opportunity to know about the step
by step procedure of the working of the machines to be used during printing and
cutting etc. Mr. Arminder Singh and Mr. Gurdeep Singh from Canon and Corel
Corporation guided the students about their work procedures and the machines
input output process such as collecting the JPG Format, consuming Colors and
making it look realistic with best quality papers. Working of laser cutting and
engraving machines were also explained. The students got awareness of leading
technologies used in the industries that will help them in increasing their
employment opportunity. They also demonstrated the difference between using
original components and first copy components. Mr. Ashish Chadha , Head
companied the students to the exhibition. Principal, Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen praised the efforts of the department. On this occasion Mr. Rishabh Dhir
were also present.

HMV got ASSOCHAM Institute of the Year Award for Multimedia and Animation
Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, the premier institute of North India has been awarded with the prestigious ASSOCHAM Education Excellence Institute of the year Award for Multimedia and Animation. The award is aimed at recognizing the excellent contribution of the institution in fostering affordable quality education and taking initiatives for nurturing an atmosphere of excellence.
The award was presented by Sh. Vinay Prabhakar Sahasrabuddhe, Member of Parliament, President, Indian Council for Cultural Relations to Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The award was bestowed during 14th National Education Summit & Annual Excellence Award 2021 on NEP 2020 – Transforming Educational Landscape of the Nation and carving a Road Map for Implementation. The three-day summit was inaugurated by Sh. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Honourable Education Minister, Government of India in presence of Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary Department of Science & Technology, Prof Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Dr. Amarendra Pani, Joint Director (Research) Association of Indian Universities and Vineet Agarwal, President ASSOCHAM and Managing Director TCI Ltd. Among the dignitaries present were Prof. VS Chauhan, Chairman, Executive Committee National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Prof. G.D. Sharma, Former Secretary, UGC, Mr. Yuvraj Malik, Director, National Book Trust , India and a galaxy of other educationalists.
The institution was rewarded for its achievements in Higher Educational Sector and received special honour for its contributions in Excellence in Multimedia and Animation. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has become the first institution of Punjab and first women institution to receive this award. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Sareen thanked Hon’ble President DAV College Managing Committee Padmashri Awardee Dr. Punam Suri for his guidance and continuous support and also congratulated Coordinator Mr Jagjit Bhatia, Mr Ashish Chadha, Head, Project Coordinator Dr Anjana Bhatia, faculty, staff and students for the achievement.

HMV organised webinar on “Use of JAVA and its applications”
The PG Department of Multimedia organized a Webinar on Use of Java and its applications in IT and Multimedia under the initiative of Industry Academia Interface under the able guidance of Principal Prof Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. On this occasion, Er. Sarvesh Chopra, Manager and IT Specialist from Evergreen Publications, Jalandhar was the Resource Person of the webinar. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen welcomed the Resource Person and all other participants and shared her views about technology and its usefulness in this COVID era. Further she said that technology plays a pivotal role in our day to day life. Infact, it has become the backbone of every sector. It is because of the technology that we are able to meet virtually, otherwise it was next to impossible for us in our past time. Community College Coordinator, Mrs. Meenakshi Syal said that the main purpose behind these webinars series is to provide a platform where the professionals from the industry and the students can directly communicate with each other and students can enhance their knowledge about their subjects and trending uses of Java. She discussed the importance of webinar in the present scenario and said that the importance of multimedia at this time. Er. Sarvesh Chopra, highlighted the use of Java and motivated the young minds to utilize these tools for their betterment. He demonstrated the live example of Java Programming to be used in the development of Android Applications. He developed a simple app in 10 minutes live in the session. He also explained the discontinuation of SWF Flash files in all the browsers and it alternative to be taken in the future of the animation implementation. This session makes the student aware about the recent changes happening in the IT World from the point of view of a Multimedia Professional. In an interactive session with students, he guided the students about different start-ups and guided them to follow their dreams with the help of the recent resources and IT. At the end of the session, Student queries were taken up by the resource person. After that Webinar Coordinator Mr. Ashish Chadha presented vote of thanks. The moderator of the event was Mr. Rishabh Dhir from Department of Multimedia. Mr. Lovelish and Ms. Mansi also joined the webinar.
